3rd Day visit to Jordan: IASEM received at PNT Head Quarter

dana12 Oct. 2015, Amman – Last day of mission to Jordan was eriched by another important meeting, held at PNT – Petra National Trust, which is a Jordanian non-governmental organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of the World Heritage Site of Petra. PNT implements its mission through conducting preservation projects and by raising awareness and advocacy.
IASEM delegation was welcomed by HRH Princess Dana Firas, Vice President of PNT, and by Aysar Akrawi, Executive Director.
The main topic of discussion was on human cultural heritage and how it can represent a tool for human development, both social and political.
Current picture of Middle East was figured out along the meeting and several ideas of possible cooperation projects were proposed, highlighting education, outreach and awarness in wider Mediterranean area.
Projects and workshops in the framework of MCH – Mediterranean Common House will be scheduled in the next mounths.

In the afternoon, IASEM delegation also met Dr. Otmar Oehring, Director of Jordan office of Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

Summerizing up this 3 days visit to Jordan, good outcomes emerged. Since Jordan represents the only stable reality in the area, it is essential to enforce operative links alla round the Mediterranean area, focusing on values of responsability, mutual understanding, sustainability.
